I've been a professional writer for 30 years and have worked in television, radio and newspapers, as well as writing for advertising agencies and magazines. I maintain a site, www.comicstripoftheday.com, which is updated daily and takes much of my attention, though I still blog here when I have something to say. I'm also a dogowner, a dad and grandfather and, like apparently 40 percent of the people on this planet, a writer of children's stories. Most days, this blog should reflect some of that.

What I need to know is, is there any kind of a rivalry going on here?
Can I pick both, or is it, like, when you had to pick (and defend) your favourite Beatle, because he's absolutely the cutest, and the most talented, and the funniest, and has the glossiest coat? (Oops - gravitated back to Rhodesian Ridgebacks there for a moment...)
