I revel in the giddy knowledge that I have lived long enough to see a comedian become the only true journalist still standing in mass media. I really never thought that things could get weirder than the 60's, but I -- as so often before -- was wrong.
If Stewart gets run over by a street sweeper tomorrow, then God help us all.
I've been a professional writer for 30 years and have worked in television, radio and newspapers, as well as writing for advertising agencies and magazines. I maintain a site, www.comicstripoftheday.com, which is updated daily and takes much of my attention, though I still blog here when I have something to say. I'm also a dogowner, a dad and grandfather and, like apparently 40 percent of the people on this planet, a writer of children's stories. Most days, this blog should reflect some of that.
