I've spent so much time setting this thing up that I'm going to simply inaugurate it by posting one of my favorite cartoons by one of my favorite cartoon artists. Jimmy Johnson has a blog at www.arloandjanis.com that I visit each morning. He's just a tad younger than I am but obsesses over the same sorts of middleage issues I do, and with the same bittersweet affection.

As exemplified here.

Love the blog. Especially thrilled to see three years of Between the Bells available on the job site section. Now, how about the columns from the Plattsburgh paper. Can you put those up too?

Alas, there would probably be some copyright issues. If they were on the Press-Republican site, I could link to them, but republishing them could create issues. However, I may sneak one in occasionally under the "fair use" doctrine, when something in the news seems to make something I said way back then seem relevant.

Mind you, I only have about half of them in electronic format, so, in many cases, I'd have to (gasp!) type the column in from the hard copy.

You don't have a scanner with OCR?

I'm still trying to figure out how call waiting works on my cell phone. I sort technology on a "want to know" basis.
